VINTAGE HAND CROCHETED TABLECLOTH SET People often ask me the history of the items I sell, particularly with old table linens, and in most cases I know very little or nothing. This piece came from an old home in Norfolk that was built near the end of the 19th century. It has set empty, intestate, for a number of years and recently was transferred to private ownership, contents included. The new owners initiated the estate sale and this was one of the linens left in the home. The estate sale people marked the tag as CA. 1910 to 1920; I personally think it's slightly more recent (due to the style of the crochet) and would more safely date it as a 1930's era set. Very beautiful. This is a pure cotton, hand-crocheted tablecloth and matching runner. They lay very beautifully. The color is a rich and deep antique shade of ivory. Still in extremely nice condition with no stains or discoloration and no holes or seperations. The tablecloth measures 68" long by 49" wide and the runner is 46" long and 11" wide.
