This is a Japanese Army officer`s sword in project mountings. The blade is signed "Kanetaka 兼高", dated "Showa Jukyu-nen 昭和十九年 ( 1944) with no stamps on the tang and WWll time period made blade. Kanetaka's real Kuwayama Takashi born in 1928, lived in Seki city, Gifu prefectuer, made swords during WWll time period. The blade is in old polish, shows very fine scratches, staines on surface but no deep rust and in need polish condition. The temper line is wavy gunome temper pattern throughout the blade and has o-maru temper at the point. There is no bend, no nick, no crack and cutting edge is sharp. It is rested in army wood scabbard in project condition. The handle is tight fit, handle wrap is un-wrapped menuki/lock pin are not presented also project condition. The blade measures 26+1/4" cutting edge, 1+3/16" width, 7mm thickness at the notch and 38+3/4" in mountings. Shipping is $20 priority in U.S. Payment due with in 3 days auction end.
