Decal Manufacturer: Microscale Title: F-8 Crusaders VMF-321, VMFA-451 & VMFA-312 Ref: 72-204 Scale: 1/72 Decals: This partial sheet contains decals for three United States Marine Corps (USMC) Chance-Vought F8U (F-8) Crusader aircraft, a F8U-2N (F-8D) serving with VMF(AW)-451 "Warlords", a F8U-2 (F-8C) serving with VMF-321 "Black Barons" and a F8U-2NE (F-8E) serving with VMF(AW)-312 "Checkerboards". Includes Black bureau numbers in two sizes, the smaller set for the rear fuselage and the larger four and six digit sets for the base of tail surfaces, Black VM and DR modex letters, VMF-451 aircraft markings in the form of Insignia Blue decals incorporating White stars to cover the surfaces of the ventral fins, as narrow Insignia Blue horizontal bands, incorporating White stars, for the tail surfaces and wider two part Insignia Blue diagonal bands, incorporating White stars, for the front section of the fuselage, VMF-321 aircraft markings in the form of four part Insignia Blue decals, incorporating White stars that extend from either side of the canopy and down the spine of the fuselage to the base of the tail, Insignia Blue decals, incorporating White stars, the MG code letters, outlined in White, as well as last four digits of the bureau number , again outlined White for the tail surfaces and Insignia Blue decals, incorporating White stars, for the ventral fins, VMF-312 aircraft markings in the form of small; Black and White checks to in fill between the Red air intake chevrons, Black fin caps edged in Yellow and Red horizontal bands below which are Black and White checks that cover the rudder surfaces extending in narrowing Black and White checks across the base of the tail edged in a Red stripe and Red and Yellow stripes to edge the ventral fins, which will need painting in Black, see the colour image within the link below, MARINES and unit titles, two sets of data/stencils including DANGER ‚ triangles, DANGER – JET INTAKE chevron markings , RESCUE w( arrows etc, with one set missing the , DANGER – JET INTAKE chevron markings , RESCUE w( arrows . Note the sheet does not include Stars and Bars, see my listing for a partial sheet of 1/72 Stars and Bars of the correct size for the fuselage and wing surfaces There are sufficient decals to complete one of the three F8U (F-8) Crusader aircraft from the sheet in full, taking into account the comments re data/stencils and using kit Stars and Bars. All the F8U Crusaders are finished in Light Gull Grey uppers over Gloss White lowers with fuselage and tail aircraft markings supplied as decals on the sheet.
