1/72 RARE VacuForm Vickers “Vildebeest” Contrails Models (Brit.). Crisp detail and heavy plastic sheet . A challenge to build, but IIRC, this is the only model of the Vildebeest available. A two or three place torpedo bomber, they were introduced into the Fleet Air Force in 1928 and some were still operational in the Far East and were used against the Japanese in the invasion of Singapore in 1942. The Spanish license built at least 24 “Vildebeests” with Hispano in-line engines, starting in 1934 and they saw action in the early months of the Spanish Civil War flown by Loyalist pilots.
