6.75" PATCH KNIFE The knife was a knife used by muzzleloaders to trim patches. Today they are used for Old Time Mountain Man Reenactments and hunting. Only about inch of the handle is showing and used to grasp the handle with your fingers. Sometimes these are sewn to your bag or powderhorn strap but this sheath has a belt loop that is riveted on. The sheath is Real Full Leather ( not then thin stuff ) and the wooden beads can be ( easily removed ) if you don't want them on your sheath. The blade is High Grade Carbon Steel mix, with todays grades of steels. I do not known the steel mix.But it is a nice grade for easy sharpening, etc. With the sheath the total length is 6.75". The blade is full tang with 3 rivets holding on a wood handle. Great looking ( Curly Maple ) style. This is one of the knives we use hear at Colta Trading for hunting etc. The knife comes Sharp out of the box. But can be made ( Razor Sharp ) very easily. As this is how we have all our knives at Colta Trading .Great all around knife that you will be pleased with! The notch at the bottom of the blade near the handle is called a ( Spanish Notch ).Which had many uses. But mainly used for striping ( Sinew ) from tendons and mainly ( Sewing ).Great for any use!...You will be please and happy with this great old time style knife...GOOD LUCK
