7893a Morocco Sugar Quartz PYRITE Crystal Geode HALF 59mm Amethyst Color 77gramDescription: Geodes according to wikipedia: are geological secondary structures that occur in certain rocks. Essential a rock in a rock. The are sedimentary in origin formed by chemicals predipitation. Geodes are essentially hollow, and vaguely spheroid. The can be formed in one of two ways:- by the filling of gas bubbles in volcanic rocks by mineral deposited by hydrothermal fluids-OR-- by the dissolution of the nodules and partial filling by some mineral dissolved in water.Coloration - is caused by variable impurities. Iron oxide produce rusl hues. Most geodes contain clear quartz crystals, while others have purple amethust crystals. Still others can have agate, chalceony or jasper banding. Some have crystals of calcite, or blue celestite.
