Welcome Buffalo China Company was started in 1901 as Buffalo Pottery. Its product lines included vitreous china, which is made of clays that are glazed and fired at extremely high temperatures. During this process the glaze fuses with the clay to produce a non-porous china known for being both delicate and durable. Buffalo Pottery named this china "Buffalo China". During World Wars I and II, Buffalo Pottery focused on producing Buffalo China for the military. Production for some of military departments continued after World War II, including the U.S. Army Medical Corps. In 1983 Buffalo China was purchased by Oneida who continued making the pattern for the Medical Corps during the 1980's. This auction is for 8 Buffalo China bread/butter plates produced for the U.S. Army Medical Corps. The red top mark is the U.S. Army Medical Corps insignia (caduceus). The plates are 6-1/4" wide. The bottom mark states "Buffalo by Oneida" with various numbers, and the plates were probably produced in the 1980's. The plates are in good used condition with high gloss and full color. No chips or cracks. They have utensil/storage wear ranging from minimal to moderate. Shipping is via FedEx Home Delivery at a flat rate of $12.00. Shipping includes insurance. No shipping to P.O.
