BEAUTIFUL 8 PAIR of Tea Cups & Saucers Adams English Ironstone DICKENS Pickwick Papers From a recently attended Connecticut estate sale, today I am pleased to offer a unique set of 8 tea cups & saucers by Adams. This set is in MINT condition - no issues to report, whatsoever. The starting price is low, so is your chance at a rare bargain. Each cup & saucer depicts a scene from the famed Charles Dickens Pickwick Papers & Oliver Twist. Included in auction are the following captions: SAUCERS: ( 1) Then, Marchioness, said Mr. Swiveller, fire away ( 4) Old Weller ducking Stiggings in the horse trough (3) Oliver's reception by Fagin and the Boys. TEA CUPS: (4) Then, Marchioness, said Mr. Swiveller, fire away (1) Old Weller ducking Stiggings in the horse trough (3) Oliver's reception by Fagin and the Boys. Even though the scenes vary, these all cups & saucers match perfectly and I do not believe it was meant for each tea cup to match each saucer's illustration (that would be no fun anyway!). From what I can tell this pattern dates back to 1896-1916, but they are in such wonderful condition, I can't believe it. No matter, they are authentic Adams pieces (a Wedgwood Group) and are fantastic collectors items for use or display.
