Up for auction is a delightful lot of 8 different antique and vintage photos featuring people wearing spectacles / eye glasses. 5 of the photos are cabinet cards, 3 are loose photos, all in very nice condition, dating from 1890s-1930s. Several of the people are identified: the card with 3 young men are brothers - Eugene, Phillip and Ralph Webber; the Japanese lad is Herbert Yushige; the serious faced woman with a low cut dress is named Portia Wills (I think). Each of the women are wearing pince nez type spectacles, the kind that sit on your nose but do not wrap around your ears. The photographer insignias indicate the photos are from Chicago, Passaic NJ, New York City, and Sacramento of those that are marked. A neat little collection, unusual in that considerably fewer people wore glasses in the early 1900s, and rarely did people wear their glasses when photographed - glasses were not "cool" back then. Buyer pays $3.50 shipping and handling in the US, $7.00 elsew
