This auction is for a wonderful and Quite Unique Antique Shell CAMEO set in Solid 800 Silver.T are MARCASITES That Detail this setting, and this item can be worn as either a Brooch or a Pendant...see images.This item was recently purchased from an estate.This item measures about 1 1/2" x 1 3/16" at the largest points (main oval dimensions, not including the folding pendant bail)T is a locking catch on this item, and the pendant bail folds down when you want to wear this as a brooch.This setting is marked 800 on the back, (indicating the metal is made from 800 silver).The Cameo is also SIGNED on the back...see images.This cameo is quite Unique.It appears to be a religious scene, with likely Mary on the left, holding the infant Jesus, and t is small (child? /Angel? ) figure on the far right holding a cross.The female (Mary?) figure on the left is sitting in what appears to be a Chair! --see images.T are halos above the figures heads...see images.This item weighs about 7.9grams.This item is in very good vintage condition.Please enlarge images to get a closer look at this items condition.T are no missing marcasites. A couple of the marcasites have small dings/chips on them, though all pretty minor.The silver seems to be in good shape, with no large dings/dents or deep scratches....t are some small surface scratches etc. as you expect to find on vintage jewelry items, though none very large/deep or objectionable...see images.The Cameo itself is in good shape as well.T are no dings/chips etc. on the carving, it really seems to be in great shape.The shell has a few fine hairlines /stress lines/feathers, ..though none penetrate through the entire shell --no 'cracks' in the shell...see images (see images of light coming through the shell) --all pretty minor, and typical to find on antique Shell Cameos.All in all, I would have to say that this item is in very good vintage condition....This is a Beautiful and quite unusual Cameo ---it would make a lovely gift...(for yourself or for someone else!)
