EXCEPTIONAL NIPPON 8pc Cup & Saucer Set Rare Golden Pine Cone Pattern **Low Reserve** Hello, and welcome to my auction. I am so excited about these glorious pieces of Nippon. they are a lovely set of 4 cups and 4 saucers in the very rare Golden Pine Cone pattern. This pattern is really beautiful with lovely piney-green, whispy branches and brown and lava-gilded pine cones. These are set in a border that looks like golden honey comb of gold moriage and beading. All pieces have the Nippon Pagoda mark used from 1910 - 1921. All are hand painted. These cups are simply the most exquisite porcelain I have ever seen! The cups are absolutely WHISPER THIN! Finer than even Belleek China! Look at the picture below to see how translucent they are when held to the light. SIMPLY GORGEOUS! The saucers are also very thin and fine, though a little sturdier than the cups. I have never seen such fine porcelain from Nippon, or most any other maker for that matter. CONDITION: All pieces are nearly MINT! Most look like they have either rarely been used, or extremely well cared for. The maker's mark is clear and bright on all pieces. T are no chips, no cracks, no crazing. The gilding is 95% all intact. T is only a little wear on a few of the handles and one saucer has a blob of gold missing on one of the pine cones (see picture below)...that is IT!
