You are looking at a Magnificent Brilliant Period Cut Glass Intaglio bowl by Gundy-Clapperton Birks signed with a shamrock containing the letter C and Birks in a diamond. The blown blank is clear and white and the matte-finished intaglio cutting is done in a design that I would call 'Daisy.', with an extremely stunning array of blended cuts and mixtures I have never seen together. Bars/ Hobs/ Buttons/ Stars/ Fans/ Pointed Loops & their Intalgio cutting that they are famed for along with the scalloped sharp pointed rim, which leads me to believe this was a display or sampler never meant to be released. It measures 9" Wide X 2 3/8" High and weighs 3 lbs 7.4 oz.Condition: It is an extremely clear stunning work of art but has some flaws to the teeth 2 of which are chipped and one is missing, all in all still a masterpiece for its time and now!!!
