A RARE FIND! These are 9 handpainted dinner plates SIGNED by Angelo Minghetti, Bologna Italy. Each measures 10.5 inches and is in shades of yellow, gold and brown . Each features a scene of a gallant young 18th century man courting a lovely young lady. All are exterior scenes BUT each is different! I couldn't photograph them all, but in some he is holding a mandolin or a walking stick. Each scene is shows the process of courtship, as they flirt with each other in different ways. Birds and trees in the background. The rims are decorated in cartouches and flowers. Very lovely and so rare. Each plate is signed on reverse. The plates are in like new condition, with the following exceptions: two plates have repaired chips on the rim, and one plate has a small area w the glaze bubbled. ALL 3 of these plates are ONLY damaged on the REVERSE. No damage to the front of any of the plates, not even knife marks. These are nine great majolica plates from a reknown maker.
