This lot is a collection of 99 'new old stock' steel dip pen nibs. If your interests include art, calligraphy, drawing, or simply collecting dip pen nibs then this item may be for you! There are only 3 nibs of each type, so you will get a wide variety of nibs. All the nibs are from recognised quality makers of the past, but are now long out of production. The photo shows one of the actual collections which will be shipped. There may be minor variations due to me running out of a particular nib type, but this image is closely representative what you will receive. All the nibs are unused. A note for anyone unfamiliar with using new dip pen nibs; new nibs usually have a protective coating applied by the original manufacturer. This will initially repel ink from the nib, so the nib will not write well. The nib is easily degreased by soaking in white spirit or turpentine or isopropyl alcohol, or some similar solvent. Alternatively some calligraphers claim good results after simply scrubbing the nib in warm soapy water. But some kind of treatment is generally considered advisable.
