This is a hand-painted plate marked A. Lanternier & Co. Limoges, Limoges France and in script "hand painted." It is signed on the front "Celine." At least it looks like that. These marks date, I think, from the 1890's and up. I don't know anything about china. This was with all my grandmother's Haviland, which dates from 1894-1931, so I'd put this in the same time frame. The photos don't show the color very well. The detail ones are taken without a flash because the reflection is so bad. The plate measures 8 5/8". It has a gold rim, which looks in good shape to me, though t is some wear. About 2" in is another gold circle, which again, looks good, though does have some wear. The 2" outer portion of the plate is a light cream color, while the center part is white. The flowers, I don't know what they are, maybe white hydrangeas?, are white with gold trim. The leaves vary from a pale green to a very light bluish, with darker green and gold accents. I see no chips. T are some tiny dimples which look to me from the original firing. T's a tiny dark fleck that isn't a chip - I don't know what it is, maybe some stray paint - it is smooth to the touch. To me, knowing nothing about china, this looks unusual and in good condition, especially considering its age. Buyer pays shipping and insurance, if requested. Please contact me if you want read more
