André Mourlon (1903-70). He and his brother René were the French flag-bearers of athletics between the two world wars, holding records in the 100 & 200 meters. This card is part of an important series of Cabrol caricatures of prominent sports figures of first part of the 19th century. Raoul CABROL was a master of distorted satirical design, with astonishing technique. His works appeared in numerous illustrated publications, including "Ruy Blas," "Le Rire," "Le Cri de Paris," "La Vie Ouvrière," and "Regards." Considered by professionals as the best French caricaturist. Raoul CABROL: "Caricaturiste de gauche, maître incontestable de la déformation satirique. Époustouflant de technicité" (Dico Solo). Divided back imprinted "CARTE POSTALE" and "Publications J.P., 3 rue Rossini, Paris."
