André Mourlon (1903-70). He and his brother René were the French flag-bearers of athletics between the two world wars, holding records in the 100 & 200 meters. This card is part of an important series of Cabrol caricatures of prominent sports figures of first part of the 19th century. Raoul CABROL was a master of distorted satirical design, with astonishing technique. His works appeared in numerous illustrated publications, including "Ruy Blas," "Le Rire," "Le Cri de Paris," "La Vie Ouvrière," and "Regards."
