You are bidding on a set of 8 very lovely hand made chinese pottery mudman. This set of mudman were made in Sekwan village that is very famous for hand made and high quality pottery. These figurines will be a unique addition to your collection. According to the Chinese legend, a human who attended a high level of meditation, or who by mistake ate a certain divine fruit or flower, or had a strange encounter with a supreme being or Immortal, may achieve immortality and hence become an Immortal. Most Immortals traveled solo across the continent of China. In the year 600-1,000 A.D., t appeared to be a group of Eight Taoist Immortals, TieGuai Li, Zhongli Quan, Caihe Lan, Zhang Guolao, Ho XianGu, Lu Dongbin, Han Xiangzi and Cao Guojiu, they always traveled together throughout China. Unlike their predecessors who are almost always serious, this group of Immortals always came in a happy mood and were accompanied by laughter in most cases. They appeared to lead a carefree, leisurely lifestyle. As you can see from the photos, the items are exquisitely made handicraft with a lots of details and it was beautiful glazed. The size for the persons who stands is about 4 3/4" x 2" x 1 1/4" and for the ones who sit is about 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" x 1 1/2".
