MG MONTEGO 2.0i (FACELIFT MODEL) 1989 This is a 1989 facelift Montego in excellent condition. I purchased the car last year with the idea of keeping it as it is such a rare car. I have now purchased a Turbo model and have too many cars so one has to go. The previous owner re-sprayed the car and fitted a new rear door. The car has unusually little rust and the sills and rear arches all appear to be original. The interior is fitted with Reccaro type black leather seats and the rest of the upholstery has been trimmed to match. The dashboard is unmarked with no cracks and the headlining which is a common problem has been redone. The engine is excellent it had a new cam belt fitted a few hundred miles ago and a new clutch, water pump and service. I covered a 150 mile round trip to the MG saloon car day this weekend and am always impressed by the performance and handling of these excellent cars. The car was built in 1989 but was not registered until 1993. I don't know why. I have an MOT from 1989 showing 59000 miles. 2008 - 65,000. 2009 - 65,000. 2010 - 67,000. 2014 - 69,000. The service book has two stamps at 35,000 miles and 53,000 miles. Most of the tax discs are also with the car.
