Hi. I'm a film director thinning out my 40 year collection. Please check out my other auctions. In the future I'll be putting up: Rare comics, movie props, posters, lobby cards, pressbooks, books, laser discs, DVD's, 16mm films, CD's, watches, toys, model kits, ray guns, trading cards, Star Trek items, shirts, original art, Elvis, Beatles...and much more! What we have here are 12 candid & publicity photos from the horror comedy classic ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN. These are from my Test File and are printed on Heavier Stock Gloss paper. (8.5x11) These are very rare photos I got from studio contacts or contact sheets. I had a quality test printed (for color and greyscale levels) and these are those shots. Some are from scanned photos, others are digital. There is some great detail in them. After I put up the last batch I got so many emails asking if I had any more that I dug up all my Test Files. As I find more I'll put them in groups. I was asked a few times if I had any more pix from A&C Meet Frankie. I have a bunch, but these are a few of my favorites. Some are 2 pix on a page. I love the shot of Frankenstein laughing and the Werewolf (with no hand makeup). The quality on all are not perfect, but some are pretty rare shots . Most are perfect, but just so you know... ===••• NOTE: Check out my other auctions with CANDID PHOTOS from all your favorite sci fi & horror films! ---=== INFO ON: Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (which has the onscreen title Bud Abbott Lou Costello Meet Frankenstein) is a 1948 American comedy horror film directed by Charles Barton and starring the comedy team of Abbott and Costello. It is the first of several films where the comedy duo meets classic characters from Universal's horror film stable. In this film, they encounter Dracula, Frankenstein's monster, and the Wolf Man, while subsequent films pair the duo with the Mummy, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and the Invisible Man. On a TV special in the early 1950s, the two did a sketch where they interacted with the latest original Universal Studios monster being promoted at the time, the Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). The film is considered the swan song for the "Big Three" Universal horror monsters – Dracula, the Wolf Man and Frankenstein's monster – although it does not appear to fit within the loose continuity of the earlier films. * The film was originally intended to be titled The Brain of Frankenstein, but its name was changed prior to the filming schedule, which ran from February 5 through March 20, 1948. * Walter Lantz, noted for the creation of Woody Woodpecker, provided the animation for Dracula's transformations. * Boris Karloff was originally approached to play the monster once again, but declined. He did, however, help promote the movie and can be seen in several publicity photos, including one where he is buying a ticket, even though he refused to actually see the film (considering it an insult). * During the filming of Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, Glenn Strange found Costello so funny he would often break up laughing, necessitating many retakes (this is readily apparent in the scene where Costello sits on the Monster's lap). There were several pie fights between takes as well, but Abbott and Costello respected the three monsters (Chaney as the Wolfman, Lugosi as Dracula and Strange as the Monster) and made sure no pies were flung at the heavily made-up actors.Film mistakes:• At one point in the film, where Abbott and Costello's characters are going through the revolving panel, Costello calls Abbott by his real name instead of his character's name.• Dracula's reflection can be seen in the mirror when he makes Dr Mornay his next victim.
