www. by Onlinetrading in the UK Abel Morralls Needle Sewing Thimble Case Scrap Picture Chromos Box Antique 7617 Description This is a novelty sewing case made from cardboard and decorated in chromolithographic picture scraps. On the lid it says "This case contains Abel Morrall's genuine and celebrated needles. There is a little ribbon tying the case together and when undone the case falls open into four outer divisions with various pictures of children, and 4 inner divisions containing 4 different sizes of needles 6= 9,7= 12,8= 10 & 9= 8. In the center is a reel of white cotton and a place to hold a thimble (missing). Period Late 1800's. Origin Manufactured by Abel Morrall Priory Mills Studley Warwickshire. Condition The ribbon holding the case together does not look original and the lid looks like has been re glued at some time with a little damage to the hinge. The gilding inside and on the edges is worn and dull. All the needles look a little rusty in the packets. Please check with pictures, any questions please email me.
