The border is decorated with bunches of grapes, wheat, Bibles and a cross. Beneath the church building is a scroll that says " The Christian Church Abingdon, Illinois ."

Abingdon is in Knox County, Illinois . This church is one of the oldest congregations of the Christian Churches ( Disciples of Christ ) and was associated with Abingdon Christian College .

On the back of the plate printed in green are two paragraphs of text about the history of the church. Beneath that is the logo of a kiln with a banner that says "Kettlesprings Kilns Alliance Ohio 1159."
