You are bidding on a green and cream-colored plate that measures 10 1/4 inches in diameter. In the center is the church building with a sign on it that says "Christian Church 1912." The border is decorated with bunches of grapes, wheat, Bibles and a cross. Beneath the church building is a scroll that says " The Christian Church Abingdon, Illinois ." Abingdon is in Knox County, Illinois . This church is one of the oldest congregations of the Christian Churches ( Disciples of Christ ) and was associated with Abingdon Christian College .On the back of the plate printed in green are two paragraphs of text about the history of the church. Beneath that is the logo of a kiln with a banner that says "Kettlesprings Kilns Alliance Ohio 1159." Not sure when this plate was produced, but it was after 1962, which is a date mentioned on the back of the plate.
