ABP AMERICAN BRILLIANT CUT GLASS SQUAT CARAFE DESCRIPTION: American Brilliant Period squat carafe from the "flower period." It has three lovely big daisies; three flower buds with stems and leaves; a 24-point star on the bottom; fluted and zippered neck with one band. What's remarkable about this is the style and simplicity: unlike many other pieces from the flower period, this one seems to know what it's doing. It's got an art nouveau movement without being fussy; the buds are delightful, sort of like little artichokes. A very handsome piece. The leaves are deeply cut, as is the star on the bottom. Polished to perfection. ITEM NAME/NUMBER: Unknown. However, the pattern looks exactly like the illustration shown (see photo) from A.C. You'd think that "a daisy is a daisy is a daisy," but in fact, t's a big difference in how the daisies were cut by the various companies. This one matches exactly, as does the accompanying stems/leaves. The Wayne Cut Glass Company existed from 1905 through around 1920. SIZE: roughly 8" tall by 6 1/2 " wide. Holds about a quart. BLANK: The blank is water clear, unusually thick and heavy, highly reflective. It shines and reflects light wonderfully. SIGNING: Unmarked. CONDITION: Excellent to
