CUT GLASS PITCHER / TANKARD Up for auction is a beautiful cut glass tankard / pitcher. This piece does glow a light, apple green when exposed to UV light leading me to believe it is American. I have been unable to determine the cutting house, but is most closely resembles a number of (standard grade) patterns by Pitkins & Brooks. It stands 9-5/8" high from the base to the bottom of the spout. The top rim measures 3" across left to right. I has a multi-pointed, cut star on the base. The pattern is somewhat simple consisting of stars and fans with fine cuts emanating from both. The top rim, mid-neck, base perimeter and handle have oval cuttings. The piece is in excellent condition. It is free of any chips or cracks. I find a couple of tiny pin-pricks on the high points of the external pattern that I believe are negligible. The glass is free of any sickness or cloudiness. It has a couple of minor surface scratches. The handle is NOT fractured. I believe it would make a lovely addition, for use or display, for any cut glass collection! Insurance is required on this auction. Thanks for looking!
