Absolut Rodrigue Artist: George Rodrigue Hand Signed & Numbered in Pencil #25/200 Offset Lithograph Limited Edition Condition: Excellent A Certificate of Authenticity is included* Year: 1993 Size: 26" x 39" Rodrigue did a few advertisements for Carillon Importers (distributor of Absolut Vodka), but declined later requests as he didn't want his famous "blue dog" to become commercialized. The COA is issued by Absolute Americana Art Gallery and is signed by Michel Roux, former CEO of Carillon. Known as the "marketing maverick", Mr. Roux is a celebrated business man and philanthropist who's risk taking and brilliant advertising instincts landed the Absolut Vodka campaign in text books. The award winning "bottle campaign" launched under Mr. Roux's tenure just ended an unprecidented 25 year run in April, 2007. Absolut Rodrigue was commissioned as part of the inventive Absolut Artist campaign which started with Andy Warhol in 1985. Mr. Roux personally commissioned over 100 artists including the then rising star, George Rodrigue.
