So the Addams family was a trifle odd, and as part of the weird little ensemble that portrayed them, Thing was always glad to give a hand whenever he could. Irrespective of how old Thing may have been way back in 1964 (hey, I was about to emerge from High School so it's really not so long ago), and it's now 43 years later, it's likely he's now an old Thing and very tired. The most likely rationale I can come up with as to why he doesn't come to retrieve the coins any longer, perhaps you can coax him from the dungeon. The bank itself appears to be virtually flawless, including the two compartments that open from the bottom (no corrosion or rattling parts moving around). The original box does have a small swatch missing from the upper right hand corner (see photo) and other minor shelf wear, but structurally it is sound and the graphics are crisp! A beautiful little gem with no reserve! Inquiries are invited and are responded to in a timely manner.
