This is a perfect example as to why people should closely examine their merchandise. This cover appeared to be an innocuous looking Antarctic Cover sent from Mawson, in the Australian Antarctic Territory to the United States of America in 1956. Upon closer examination, I looked at the contents of the envelope, finding an autographed, signed letter from none other than Admiral Richard Byrd, famous polar explorer and adventurer extraordinaire. Upon researching this letter further, I found out that Admiral Byrd was present during Operation Deep Freeze in Antarctica during the time this cover was mailed from the Antarctic. OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY!!!
