This cute little guy is an antique Teddy bear that was made in Japan. This is stuffed with wood chips or straw (see 4th picture). All the limbs move independently and there is a silk gross grain ribbon around his neck. This has pink felt paws, a black yarn nose and glass eyes. It measures about 10 1/2" long when laid flat. I don't know much about bears but my best guess as to age is circa 1920. For you bear and toy people there is an identifying label on his left paw that has a turtle logo and the word Japan inside a square cartouche. Condition: the only hole I was able to find is the one pictured on the left arm where the metal wire that attaches the limb to the inside has pulled inside the arm. The black yarn nose is torn and he is soiled with years of dust. The squeaker lever on his back is still taught and he squeaks very well! Please feel free to ask questions.
