I couldn't decide whether to sell this model or not for the longest time.I've had it since 1960. This item is one of my favorites, the AEC BEA Bus. It is model No. 58It was an airport bus from the 1950's. The BEA stands for British European Airways. As you can see, it is in exceptional condition. The decals are in tact. The paint is also in exceptional condition, however there are some chips on the raised areas of the model. The model has a flat black paint base plate. The wheels are gray plastic on crimped axles. The box is missing two flaps on one side. The model cost $.49 when my parents purchased it for me, as the price is written on the box in pencilThough my friends and I did play with pretty much all of these old models, the Matchboxes were always "inside" toys. They never went outside, and were always used on carpeted or linoleum floors. Going through the models, I seem to remember that if we got too rough with the cars, they were put up for a few days.
