I'm pleased to offer this aesthetic cluster of Aegirine crystals from Mount Malosa, Zomba, Southern Region, Malawi. The specimen measures 1.71 x 1.56 x .41 inches or 4.35 x 3.97 x 1.05cm and is in excellent condition! This is from the Ron Blackstone (1947-2016) collection of Phoenix, Arizona and comes with a small label of unknown origin with a price of $45 attached to the back and a notation that Ron paid $40 for the specimen. The Mount Malosa aegirine specimens are the world's finest for the species and they are indeed fabulous. Many thousands of these have been dug from Mount Malosa over the past couple of decades at least. They are often associated with many other species---nearly 60 different minerals have been found on the mountain. This piece shows terminated (feathery) crystals in a very aesthetic arrangement without matrix.I have had many of these over the years---I love black minerals and these pieces are just fabulous and are FAR better than almost any from any other locality. The mineral was formerly known as acmite but this was discontinued in favor of aegirine. I've had labeled acmite specimens from Magnet Cove, Arkansas---a classic locality for lesser specimens but desirable nonetheless. Please check my feedback and my other eBay items . All specimens are carefully wrapped, come with complete and accurate labels and read more
