Offered is a matched pair of children's brown and white transferware plates measuring 5-3/8" inches across. The plates are marked with pattern number 766 and registration number 69456, registered by Charles Allerton & Sons, a pottery manufacturer in the Staffordshire region of England who was well known for his whimsical children's tea sets made for the American market in the pattern is known as "Little May with Dog" or "Girl with Dog". One has a small hairline on the side, the other plate is in good condition.
