AF VSCARCE 3210 PREWAR TANK CAR MEDIUM GREEN TANK W/DARK BLUE FRAME, CHROME DOME and 8B TRUCKS. American Flyer MEDIUM GREEN tank car with DARK GREEN painted ends. 1937 production (Chicago Flyer) only. With stamped steel DARK BLUE frame with integral stamped or pressed steps.Four copper-colored tank supports, BRASS railings, dome platform and CHROME! dome. T-slot style couplers riveted to frame. ONE COUPLER missing the leg or bottom stem of coupler. Tank has four AMERICAN FLYER LINES decals (2each side). Equipped with type 8A trucks with 3/4” wheels and brass journal boxes. Overall condition is near full excellent. All brass fixtures ARE BRIGHT AND CLEAN. I purchased this at TCA York, PA in the early70s and while not a RARE car, it is a VERY SCARCE and difficult car to locate. NOT DOCUMENTED IN GREENBERG GUIDE TO AF O GAUGE with F and G verisons the closest. PICTURED in Doyle's book w/o description. Certainly a worthy display piece of the late 9-1/2” freight cars from Chicago Flyer.Shipped within the US only.
