New Handmade African Batik: Maasai Warriors approximately 20 x 26 inches This beautiful batik portrays proud Masai warriors. It is created by A. Molel. Batik is a very time-consuming process which involves brushing molten wax onto cloth which is then dipped or painted with dye. The waxed areas resist the dye. The wax is removed and the process repeated over and over for each color until just the right effect is achieved by the creator. Batiks can be framed or simply hung on the wall to add a marvelous jolt of color and culture. They can also be incorporated in home decor as pillow covers, table runners, placemats, and other items if you are willing to do a bit of crafting. And they are wonderful accents to pieces of clothing, too. Of course, as a gift, they are never less than delightful. So don't be held back when using batiks!
