I traveled to Southern Africa in 2002 and spent a month visiting safari camps in Botswana and Namibia. It is breathtaking country and the trip of a lifetime. I also became enamored of African baskets and began to collect them. But now I am moving to a smaller space and need to part with perhaps half of my collection. I will be listing approximately 20-25 baskets over the next few weeks. All handmade, all one of a kind and all beautiful. Here is one I am offering:Ukhamba beer basket - The patterning on this basket is repeating diamonds (the feminine form) enclosing checkerboard patterns, which symbolize good news such as a new baby!
