The Age of Innocenceby Edith Wharton In an ornate, illustrated leatherbound edition Finely produced copy of author's highly acclaimed 1920 novel which features the upper crust of 1870s New York society. It was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1921, being the first such prize awarded to a woman. In rich full purple covers with elaborate gilt ornamentation on front, back and spine; three raised bands on spine. All edges gilt. Interior published on rich papers and with pink silk moire endpapers and matching satin ribbon bookmark sewn in. Illustrated by Barnett Plotkin. A bright, sharp, clean, unmarked copy.
