Silver tan coat with matching trousers which belonged to Major General Daniel W. Jenkins. His uniform coat has Major General stars marked N.S.Meyer (CB), U.S. collar insignia, sterling Command Pilot wings marked Josten-Sterling (CB), and 9-place ribbon bars including Legion of Merit, Air Medal & Purple Heart. The left chest pocket has his Legion of Merit medal (unnamed) pinned on. General Jenkins served with the 95th Bomb Group/8th Air Force and was shot down over Belgium on August 12, 1943. He remained a Prisoner of War until April 29, 1945. When General Jenkins was shot down, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. This uniform was purchased at an estate sale in Florida several years ago. See my other auctions for a painting of General Jenkins, certificates and insignia that was purchased with the uniform. Guaranteed original. General Jenkins is pictured in this uniform on the Air Force Link/Biography Section website. Biography included with the uniform.The uniform is in excellent condition with no mothing that I could find. The coat measures 20 1/2 inches across the back from armpit-to-armpit. The sleeves measure 23 inches long. The waist on the trousers measures 32 1/2 inches. The shirt and tie in these pictures are for display purposes only and are not for sale.
