WWII or Later Fine Wool Artillery Enlisted Overseas CapReally nice, clean dark olive wool overseas cap in excellent condition. This was reported to have come out of a Warren County Pennsylvania footlocker in July, 2003, and belonged to a PFC by the name of Baker who was with the 376 Parachute Field Artillery Battalion in WWII. The 376th was part of the 82nd Airborne Division. It is possible it is a reunion piece, worn later, as it is very clean, crisp, and appears unworn. It is also possible that it is a British made, private purchase cap that was stored away.It displays beautifully. The cut-edge combined Glider/Paratrooper patch is embroidered on twill, and is machine stitched onto the cap. This style patch, though the twill is less common than fully embroidered, was used from 1943 until modern, merrow edge patches replaced the cut-edge in the late '60's.Small size, around 6 5/8.Please see my other auctions for morePlease pay with PayPal within three (3) days or contact me for arrangements.
