AL KOOPER WITH SHUGGIE OTIS – Kooper Sessions (aka Super Sessions, Vol. 2). Acadia ACAM 8135. UK release. NEW CD. Originally issued in 1969. This edition issued in 2007, now out of print. TRACKS: Bury My Body, Double Or Nothing, One Room Country Shack, Lookin’ For A Home, 12.15 Slow Goonbash Blues, Shuggie’s Old Time Dee-Di-Lee-Di-Leet-Deet Slide Boogie, and Shuggie’s Shuggle. DESCRIPTION: Al kooper's previous album ( Super Session ) set the standard for superstar jam albums so this record, released just one year later, was bound to be overlooked. However, since most of Shuggie Otis' discography has been reissued in recent years (and it seems he hasn’t been much interested in returning to the recording studio for many years now) it only seemed natural that eventually they would dust off this little gem. The original record was broken into two sections (and follows the same track lineup for this reissue): Side one consisted of concise readings of more traditionally based blues material while side two was where Shuggie and Al decided to stretch out in the form of three lenghty jams. All in all this album is a nice little record that if you dig Shuggie Otis or blues rock and blues (or both) is well worth adding to your collection. Other companies use resealable clear outer sleeves which are used on some import and domestic releases. If I receive an item this way it will be shipped as I received it and not opened up. All CDs that do not come in an outer packaging wrap are inspected by me prior to shipping. It is not unusual to find small imperfections in the disc, especially on European manufactured CDs; these small imperfections do no effect the play of the disc. If, for any reason, a disc does not play it is fully guaranteed by me and is returnable for refund or replacement (see my return policy below for more details). Also an unsealed jewel case may show light signs of warehouse/transit storage wear. If a jewel case is received by me broken, it will be replaced with a new jewel case before shipping. GFC: Gate fold cover, refers to a style of mini-jacket CDs. 2/1: This denotes that 2 albums are on 1 single CD.
