This is a 16" x 20" original sketch by Eric von Schmidt (1931-2007) of a detail from his famous painting, "The Battle of the Alamo. I commissioned this sketch and asked that von Schmidt separate the two combatants so that the front of the Mexican's uniform could be seen (see attached photo from the original painting). Everything else follows the original painting. There is an inscription to me on the bottom of the sketch. The sketch has been professionally mounted using archival material. There is a bit of discoloration on the bottom of the sketch. This happened soon after the sketch was received and had to do with some defect in the paper. There has been no change in the past twenty years (see detail).
