This large photo album contains right around 378 photos taken in Hawaii sometime between 1934 up to 1943. Lots and lots of military photos, including guns, formations, various ships and airplanes, etc. etc. It appears someone from the 3rd engineers group owned the album as there are many photos of this group and their activities (both in uniform and out of uniform). There are the usual scenic Hawaiian photos, including parades, hula girls, beach scenes, vacation site scenes, etc. etc. There is one, and perhaps two, photos of Will Rogers who visited Hawaii with his wife and son on the first leg of their world tour in July 1934. A sampling of the photos in the album are shown in the scans below. The album pages are a bit larger than my scanner so some of the photos appear to be cut off, but they are definitely not cut off. There are so many great images in the album it was hard to decide what to scan. Only a sample of the many images is shown in the scans. All of the photos are held onto the album pages with tabs and can be easily removed. A few have fallen off the pages and are loose in the album. Just a few of the photos are published images; most were taken by an amateur but I don’t know the person’s name. The album measures 10 ½” x 13”.The cover is in poor condition and the black paper pages are brittle and the edges easily chip read more
