ALESIS M1 MKII ACTIVE MONITOR A fantastic studio monitor Faulty - Does not power up, can be fixed by an electrician that knows what they're doing (I don't) or even by Alesis themselves, I just don't have the time, money or patience. I also have the other monitor for sale in full working order! Alesis M1 Active mk2 Active studio monitors offer amazing bass performance and true vocals making them perfect monitors for professional or home studio use where compromise isn't an option. Alesis have not skimped on anything with this legendary pair of M1 Active mk2 with not only the very best sound quality, but build quality also. It's no wonder that top studio's and DJ's have been using the Alesis monitor series for over ten years now, with top-end reliability and exceptional sound quality these speakers are truly unsurpassed in their class. Alesis are renowned for only using componants that meet their own exacting standards and the M1 Active Mk2s are a great testament to this philosophy. The woofer and tweeter were specifically designed for these speakers and to offer the user the most linear, low distortion response in all powered monitoring applications. The 6.5" woofer cone is made from non-woven carbon fiber (the same material used to build the wings of combat aircraft!). The M1 Active's 1" tweeter dome is made of pure silk, which offers a natural response that aids in preventing ear fatigue during long mix sessions. It also features an internal pole piece mounted phasing plug and is ferrofluid cooled to maintain the best balance of transient response to power handling. Alesis know that great drivers are wasted without good amplification and the M1 Active mk2 uses two audiophile-quality amplifiers-a 75 watt woofer amp and a 25 watt tweeter amp. These amplifiers were engineered specifically for the M1 Active along with 4th order high and low pass electronic crossover filters which help ensure maximum efficiency across the entire frequency range. M1 Active Mk2 are arguably amongst the best looking active monitor speakers on the market but the design isn't just pleasing to the eye, it's clever too! In developing the M1 Active mk2, the Alesis engineering team discovered that dual font-facing ports provided the fastest, most coherent and extended low frequency augmentation. Meanwhile the unique offset design of the high frequency driver allows for the flattest frequency and power response in a speaker that offers such wide dispersion. M1 Active's attractive mirror-imaged, charcoal- toned cabinet and magnetically-shielded drivers allow for placement in close proximity with computer or video monitors, and offers the added benefit of blending beautifully into your studio's decor without being obtrusive. They may be mounted in either a horizontal or vertical placement to best fit your studio's requirements.
