Four sheets of studies by Frank Lloyd Wright Associate Alfonso Iannelli (1886-1965). Iannelli was a major American sculptor, poster and graphic designer. He collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright on the Midway Gardens , Chicago, 1912-1915, Purcell and Elmslie , Sioux City courthouse, circa 1916-1920, Barry Byrne , John Lloyd Wright and Bruce Goff on many commission and projects. He also did many important displays for the 1933 Century of Progress in Chicago. He was a highly influential commercial artist, industrial and interior and architectural designer in the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s. Iannelli was responsible for interior design for the new Encyclopedia Britannica offices in the 1940s. “Cats” - four small sheets, one beingdouble-sided, pencil and ink on drawing paper (one appears to be drawn on paper from a note pad). The sleeping cat in ink is on drawing paper and has some creases and an oil(?) stain. The others are all in excellent condition. 4 5/8 x 3 ½ inches, 3 x 5 inches, 3 x 5 inches and 7 7/8 x 5 inches.
