ALICE ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND BYLEWIS CARROLLC.1877Macmillan & Co, London, 1877. 55th thousand, forty-two illustrations by John Tenniel, bound in red pictorial gilt cloth depicting Alice holding a pig with triple gilt circle frame, rear board depicts the Cheshire cat within triple gilt circle frame, both board edges triple ruled in gilt, tissue guard present but tore a little towards the bottom gutter, spine and all edges gilt, a couple of signatures to half title (see pics), covers are rubbed and soiled somewhat, interior has some finger smudges and soiling a few spots and darkening to covers and spine with light wear to spine tips, books is cocked to the right somewhat with some small blistering to the front and back covers not affecting the interior, in all a good+/good++ copy.
