The Cigar Factory Building was built in 1891, designed as a five-story structure by Edgar Allen Poe Newcomb for the manufacturing of cigars by Alles & Fisher, a cigar company founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1863. They occupied the building until 1918 when they ceased cigar production. Their retail store operated on the street level of the building Common Stock Certificate Number A691.......Issued june 15, 1928..........For 2 shares.......In favor of Mary Palumbo......Hand signed by two corporate officers......Registered by The First National Bank Of Boston.......Countersigned by State Street Trust Company......The certificate was printed by John A. Lowell Bank Note Co, Boston...........It has an ornate blue border , with a unique vignette featuring two crossed cigars.........This is a very nice certificate in good condition
