ALTEC 1592b MIC PREAMP MIXER You are bidding on a classic Altec 1592b preamp mixer in working condition. This was used professionally in a recording studio and any capacitors that needed to changed have been recapped (see pics.) ..... please check my feedback for these and similar units,.. This is a great sounding Vintage preamp , excels on snare, vocals, guitar & bass. The tone controls - bass and treble - sound great. The treble sound crisp and clean with a touch of air and the bass is round, warm and can be punchy if needed. This is great for DAW recording. Will definitely warm up those digital tracks . This comes with one 1588b plug in input transformer (see pics) these are the nicest sounding mic transformer out of all the plug in tranys that can be used for this preamp/mixer. . The 1588b transformer is used with dynamic and ribbon mics. You can get some good results driving this preamp, and the sweet spot is outrageous. The Altec 1592b is a 5 channel preamp mixer with one output... This comes with one mic input transformers .. if you want to use all five inputs you will need additional plug in transformers... I have some transformers for purchase to the winning bidder if needed.. We used it with one plug in transformer as listed.. This is play and plug ready . It comes with an 1/4" TRS balanced pigtail.
