AMAZING FANTASY #15 THE FIRST APPEARANCE OF SPIDER-MAN AUGUST, 1962 Forty-five years ago two kids, aged 10 and 12, bought a comic book for twelve cents. They are not sure which of them actually bought it. If it was the little boy, he would have had to collect 6 empty soda bottles from nearby construction sites, cashing them in at the local grocery store. If it was the little girl, she would have had to save about a half an hours worth of babysitting pay. Anyway, they read it a few times and put it away. In the mean time neither one of them became a superhero or a mutant (golly, what are the odds against that?). Instead they just grew up like everyone else on a spectacularly dull planet called Boring World. And somew in the middle of their lives they rediscovered their long ago purchase. If Boring World could somehow have merged with Affordable World, they could have kept their comic and passed it along to a new generation of Boring World children. But that did not happen and so in order to pay for some of the cost of the next generation, as well as home repairs and car repairs and all the other stuff BW residents contend with every day, they decided to market Amazing Fantasy #15 on eBay. Turns out they sent this comic to a reliable grading service in Florida called CGC that gave it a rating of 3.5. If you look at the pictures read more
