AMAZING VINTAGE CLASSIC ART CAMEO NECKLACE Beautiful and unusual piece, last of two to be on auction ******************************************* close to actual size (photo size may vary depending on resolution settings) ****************************************** This is a superb vintage cameo art necklace, featuring a highly detailed art inspired presentation of what is often referred to as The Courting Couple or A Day in the Country. Wonderful work, with such detail that it’s hard to believe it’s made of a composite material. This is the last of a pair necklaces from the estate of a very ardent California collector. These necklaces were made in the 1940-50s period, and were not cheap knockoffs, but highly arty and well crafted pieces. The profile is not molded, but carved like shell, by artisans using composite materials. This is why the level of detail is so considerable. The background is blue green in color, with a subtle dappled texture, with the profile in a complimentary cream color. Hangs from heavy link chain, original to the piece. Very collectible, not many of these pieces survived in such good condition. It's got weight to it. For the person who wants something unique and striking.
