We offer for sale a magnificent etching by American artist Edward Loyal Field. It's rare to own one of his works as they have become lost to time and neglect. A member of the well known PAKATAKAN ART COLONY in Arkeville New York where he painted alongside American Master John Francis Murphy!This etching is is well done and well preserved. It is framed in an outstanding whitewashed carved wood frame with leaf motifs.It depicts an upstate New York landscape with a small homestead in the distance just across the man made foot bridge. There is a mighty tall fine tree standing against the sky line. This piece is signed lower right hand corner by the Artist. It is gallery matted framed and glazed with glass.It measures:Frame - 32" x 21 3/4"Sight - 21" x 10 1/4"Etcher, watercolorist, and painter in oils, Edward Loyal Field was an artist of considerable versatility. He was born in Galesburg, Illinois in 1856 and, as a young man, went to Paris, where he studied in the popular atelier of Carolus-Duran. He returned to the U.S. in 1882, taking up residence in Manhatten, where he remained throughout his life. Field exhibited extensively in cities throughout America and was a member of both the Salmagundi Club and the Boston Art Club.
