1980 American Arts Commemorative Series Gold medallion celebrating the life of Marian Anderson. Extremely hard to find. Many have been melted down for their gold value.Marian Anderson was an African-American opera singer who was widely credited with helping break down color barriers in the musical arts.This medallion was struck by the U.S. Mint in .900 fine gold, containing exactly 0.5 Troy oz gold and 0.055 Troy oz of copper. Total weight is 0.555 Troy oz.Medallion comes with styrofoam portion original US Mint packaging.
