AmericanBrilliant 7” Square Low-Bowl Up for auction is this beautiful 7x7 inch square low bowl - very fine etching of Tuthill's Primrose pattern with lovely deep cut hostar design on the bottom. This is a signed Tuthill piece which the pictures do not do justice - lots of fire and sparkle. This is from the American Brilliant Period (1876-1917) - I would guess this to be about 105-110 years old - cir. 1910. The edge has an unusual saw-tooth pattern that is quite delicate. The signature is a bit hard to see since the acid mark is done right over a hobstar - I tried to photograph the best I could, but had to do it from the underside - making the mark "backwards" - rest assure - it does say Tuthill and the maker's mark is correct. There is some damage, although it is very difficult to find without close examination. On the outer corner there is a small chip (see photo) - there is also the usual flea-bites and small rim chips - so this piece is an AS IS condition - please review the photos closely. This lovely dish belonged to my Great Aunt who was a collector and placed labels stating what she paid, this piece was bought in the early 1980's for $225.50. Sadly she is in a nursing home with late-stage Alzheimer's and we're selling her collection to
