This is a lovely cut glass jam or mustard pot with notched lid by JD Bergen Cut Glass Co. of Meriden, CT. It is shown on page 76 of their 1904-05 catalog as No. 10161 Mustard $1.90. That equals $53.75 in today’s cost. It stands 3" to the lid proper, and is 2.5" in diameter at the widest. It features two large hobstars cut in diamond fields with large scale beading in between. The lid has a very nice lapidary knob handle, a notch to accomodate a spoon and a serrated edge to the rim, with a star cut on the underside, on the plug wafer that secures it in place against falling off.
